Forjando O Caminho is the first live album by Spanish/Brazilian/Chilenian/German band Mondo Chôro.
Seven tracks, captured during a live show in december 2023, show the special atmosphere that this emerging group brings to stage.
With “Vaidoso” the quartet opens the album with a grooving version of a composition by Moacir Santos, introducing the clarinetist, pianist and guitarist of the group through joyful and effortless solos.
On “Receita de Samba” (recipe for samba) Brazilian native Henrique Gomide lays out an interplay of rhythms and colours that is as danceable as it is sophisticated. Accompanied by Severino on guitar and Zinsius on Pandeiro, Pasanau Miró and Gomide make sure that this Samba-dance doesn’t get any boring.
With “Migalhas De Amor” (crumbs of love) the band enters the tender side of the evening, offering some beautiful versions of Brazilian classics, that give especially Pasanau Miró the freedom to touch the listener with her beautiful, lovingly warm sound, carefully accompanied by the three men on her side.
“Rosa” , the famous brazilian waltz composed by the great Pixinguinha, is performed in a clarinet and piano duo. The conversation that the two musicians are having is tender, emotional, yet happy and confident.
The band finishes their live set with a playful version of “Dino Pintando O Sete“, a choro composed by Sivuca as an homage to Dino, one of the most reknown Brazilian 7-string guitarists.
